  • The 145 kW, 210 kW and 1200 kW 600V units are reserved for Canadian contractors and certified to CSA and UN31A standards.
  • Aggreko has added 145 kW, 210 kW and 1200 kW 600V Tier 4 Final diesel generators to its Canadian fleet, with the largest model carrying onboard 600V output that removes the need for step-up transformers. All three units are CSA and UN31A compliant and are offered exclusively to Canadian contractors.
Three diesel generator sets, from a compact canopy unit to a large container-mounted model, stand on a gravel pad at a remote Canadian work site with cables leading to a distribution panel.

Aggreko has introduced three Tier 4 Final diesel generators configured for remote work sites in Canada, rated at 145 kW, 210 kW and 1200 kW at 600V. The units will be sold exclusively to Canadian contractors, the company said.

The generators are built to meet Canadian market and regulatory requirements, with all three models certified to CSA and UN31A standards for electrical and fuel compliance. Aggreko describes the package as pairing its current generator technology with hardware adapted to the conditions Canadian contractors operate in.

Onboard 600V output on the largest unit

The 1200 kW model carries onboard 600V capability, eliminating the need for separate step-up transformers. According to Aggreko, the direct 600V output reduces project complexity, improves cost-efficiency and lowers the number of potential failure points — an advantage where large industrial loads require 600V supply.

The 145 kW and 210 kW models are supplied as canopy units for immediate deployment, while the 1200 kW unit is positioned for large industrial loads. The three additions extend Aggreko's Canadian fleet, which covers ratings from 25 kW to 1200 kW.

Target sectors and applications

Through its Canadian service centre network, Aggreko's energy specialists work with customers in data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events to deploy temporary power. The company points to large petrochemical and mining operations spread across remote territory, together with a growing construction sector and data centre industry, as the demand drivers behind the Canada-specific configuration.

The generators are intended to supply reliable, low-emissions power for commercial and industrial applications. Aggreko says all three models offer high fuel efficiency, very low emissions and controlled noise levels that go beyond local requirements.

Data centres are cited as a particularly relevant application. As provincial regulators look to limit the power data centre operators draw from the grid, Aggreko presents the Tier 4 Final units as off-grid generation that keeps facilities operating while limiting disruption to surrounding communities.

Company comment

Paul Nascimento, managing director for Canada at Aggreko, said tailoring the company's most advanced generators for Canadian customers underscores the importance of the market to the business. He described Canada as having clear demand for engineered energy solutions that are both powerful and precisely configured.

  • 145 kW and 210 kW: canopy units for immediate energy needs
  • 1200 kW: onboard 600V output for large industrial loads
  • Compliance: CSA and UN31A certified for the Canadian market
